Benro Variable Neutral Density Filters ND2 to ND128 reduce EV (aperture correction) values from 1 to 7. The light transmission of Benro NDX variable filters is from 50% to 0.781%. The stops at the extremes make the job easier, so the photographer does not have to deal with the possible "X" factor that accompanies these types of variable filters.

Vario filters work on the principle of two polarizing foils placed opposite each other. When the filter is manipulated and rotated, the density changes and the filter becomes less transmissive to light, reducing the amount of light hitting the camera sensor.

BenroSD NDX-HD LIMIT ULCA WMC filters are treated with anti-reflective and water and oil repellent coatings, as we are used to with Benro filters.

The grey filters offer incredible creativity in photography, you can capture running water to look like "milk" or you can blur people and cars passing by in daylight on a busy city street, thanks to the very long time. Vario filters replace grey filters of different values, you don't have to decide which one to use, simply turn left or right.

WHAT IS ULCA?

BENRO Ultra Low Chromatic Aberration coatings are special colorless coatings developed by German glass coating specialists. Compared to traditional coatings used by other manufacturers, BENRO ULCA does not show significant variations in reflectance at any level of the visible colour spectrum (see straight curve without significant bulge). In practical use, this means that none of the colours dominate the colours in the more filtered colour spectra due to the higher transmittance. This property is absolutely critical to a high degree of accurate color reproduction.

The layers of traditional filters reflect more light from the blue or green spectrum. The Benro ULCA with a low chromatic aberration layer has a fairly balanced state of transmittance in the visible color spectrum.

Quality control

Benro filters undergo transmittance and reflectance tests on a Shimadzu UV-2550 spectrophotometer. Quality control is thus an integral part of the production process. This means that you can only get your hands on filters of premium quality.

WMC (water and oil repellent, scratch resistant)

The latest special water and oil (grease) non-stick coatings for a minimal increase in surface cleanliness during photography and the ability to clean quickly and easily. WMC layers are also extremely hard to prevent the filter surface from scratching. A clean and scratch-free filter surface is essential for perfect photographs.

There is a "normal" color shift with variable ND filters, and it depends on the density setting. Thanks to the highest quality polarizing films available today and the polarizing film bonding and glass coating technologies used, color shifts in Benro NDX filters are minimal and virtually negligible compared to competing professional filters.
